Sarsfields 4-07 Granemore 4-09
This match was played in very poor conditions and the ladies had to cope with strong gusting winds and hailstones that made playing good football almost impossible. With Granemore having twelve players this match was played as twelve a side. However it was Granemore that got off to a great start mainly due to their ability to win possession in the middle of the field. The visitors led 1-06 to 0-02 after twenty minutes. Improved work rate and scores from Dervla Campbell, Ciara Robinson and Claire Gallagher pulled the Highmoss back into the game.
After the break, good midfield work from Nola Mc Alinden combined with solid half back performances from Colleen, Orlaigh and Emma Murray saw the Hoops push into a six point lead. With ten minutes remaining Sarsfields found themselves a player down whe Ciara McClelland received her marching orders.
Granemore used this to their advantage and were able to win a lot of breaking ball. In the remaining 10 minutes the visitors scored 2-02 without reply to snatch the victory. For the ladies it was soul destroying after having put in such a great effort only to see the points slip from their grasp.
