Summary of League Structures

A few people have been asking for further information on the new league structures.
The following should help you out.
The Championship dates are also listed below.

Sunday 24 June ‘Cut-off’ date for the first part of Leagues
Sunday 01 July Round 1 – League Cup & Shield Competitions
Friday 06 July Round 2 – League Cup & Shield Competitions
Wednesday 25 July Round 3 – League Cup & Shield Competitions
Sunday 29 July Round 4 – League Cup & Shield Competitions
(Clubs will be given no fixtures between 7 July and 24 July unless both clubs agree.)

The remaining League Cup & Shield Competition fixtures will be interwoven between the Senior, Intermediate & Junior Championship fixtures and will be issued to clubs in due course.

Immediately after the ‘cut-off’ date for the single round fixtures each League shall be divided into two sections with the top eight teams gaining entry to the Cup competition and the remainder of teams being admitted to the Shield competition.
Cup and Shield games shall be single round with the fixtures being reversed from the 1st round.
Points won and scores in the 1st round shall be carried over to the Cup and Shield competitions.

Promotion
The Intermediate/Junior Championship winners shall be automatically promoted to the Senior/Intermediate League respectively for the following season.
The top two (2) teams in the Intermediate/Junior Cup shall be promoted to the Senior/Intermediate League and Championship for the following season.
In the event of the Intermediate/Junior Championship winners finishing in the top two of the Junior/Intermediate Cup competition then the third placed team shall also be promoted to the Senior/Intermediate League for the following season.

Relegation

The bottom three (3) teams in the Senior/Intermediate Shield shall be relegated to the Intermediate/Junior League and Championship respectively for the following season.
In the event of the Senior/Intermediate Champions finishing in the bottom three (3) of the Senior/Intermediate/Junior League then the fourth (4th) bottom team shall also be relegated to the Intermediate/Junior League respectively for the following season

Regulations for Results, Teams finishing on level points, etc.
a) League/Cup/Shield results shall be credited as follows: 2 points for a win, and one for a draw.
b) If a Team is Disqualified or Retires during the course of the League/Cup/Shield, its played Games shall stand and its unplayed Games shall be awarded to the Opposing Teams.
c) Where Teams finish with equal points for Qualification for the Concluding Stages, or for Promotion or Relegation, the tie shall be decided by the following means and in the order specified:
(i) Where two Teams only are involved – the outcome of the meeting of the two Teams in the previous game in the Competition;
(ii) Scoring Difference (subtracting the total Scores Against from total Scores For);
(iii) Highest Total Score For;
(iv) A Play-Off.
Exceptions to (c):
(1) In relation to (ii) and (iii) above; if the accumulated scores of a team, so involved, are affected by a disqualification, loss of game on a proven objection, retirement or walk over, the tie shall be decided by a Play-Off.

Finals
The top two teams in the Senior/Intermediate/Junior Cup and Shield competitions shall playoff in a final to decide the winners of each competition.
