The Sarsfields U21 Tournament continued to provide entertaining football and the Highmoss just edged this exciting match by a single point. Level after ten minutes Sarsfields had a good spell in which they knocked over five points without reply. A St. Peter's goal pulled them back into the match, but in a swift response Colin Stevenson hit the net for Sarsfields. Thomas McAlinden increased the lead to six points with his third score just before half time.
On the restart St. Peter's hit a quick goal and a point. Sarsfields pulled two points back. Points were exchanged, but in a period of dominance the home side hit three points without reply, reducing the Highmoss lead to a single point. Michael Stevenson had a chance to wrap the game up but was denied a goal by the Peter's keeper. The ball though did go over the bar for a much needed point. In the last play from a forty-five ,Declan Breen got the vital touch on a dipping shot pushing it over the bar to prevent a late winning goal for the Peter's. This win ensures a semi-final place for the Highmoss, with the other semi-final place from the group to be decided between the St. Peter's v St. Paul's match.
