Culloville 2-24  Sarsfields 0-07

This was a poor day out for Sarsfields. Fair enough Peter Stevenson, Eamon McGeown, Johnny Reynolds and Declan Breen weren’t available and Mark Reynolds and Eimeid Murray weren’t fit to start. Thanks to the poor arrangement of fixtures there was a small crowd and Highmoss people who didn’t travel can consider themselves fortunate. As for those who did attend there was little to justify the forty mile journey. Sarsfields were second best from start to finish and Culloville had seven points on the board before Sarsfields managed a pointed free. It might well have been 2-12 to no score but for two superp Darran McAvoy saves and some wasteful shooting from the home side. Sarsfields ended the first half ten behind with just two Richie Stevenson frees.

The second half continued much as the first half. Culloville continued to dominate and hit 2-12 against five Sarsfields points. The goal tally might have been higher, but the home side opted to fist a few goal chances over the bar. There was little in the way of positives to take from the match, but at least the management did take the opportunity to give the bench some game time.

With a visit to Davitt Park next week a massive improvement and change of attitude is needed.
